• Scholarly Writing

If you’re just beginning a new project or have already drafted hundreds of pages, developmental editing can help in many ways: organize evidence, clarify language and structure, tighten and unify big picture with logical flow, fine-tune emplotment of argument, and make your theoretical contributions more clear and elegant. I work with academic scholars across the social sciences and humanities. I help authors with their journal articles, essays, book proposals, chapters, and full-length manuscripts.

  • Creative Nonfiction

I am also a published writer of creative nonfiction. I love to work as a developmental editor for writers working across the full range of the genre—literary journalism, public criticism, memoir, personal essay, family histories, and experimental and hybrid forms. Whether the writing is intellectually-motivated, emotionally vulnerable, or some combination thereof, I’d be happy to work with you.

  • Creative Coaching

Are you a BIPOC+LGBTQIA writer who is new to creative writing or feeling emotionally stuck? Are you an academic or scholar who would like to experiment with other forms of publication and writing? Coaching can help to create new processes and habits that will grow the well of creativity and help you find your true voice.
